For some considerable time now although very good flashlights Maglite’s have been limited because of the lifetime of the batteries and bulbs used in them. But things have recently changed as a result of a Maglite LED conversion kit now being made available. As a result one is able to replace the original incandescent tungsten bulb that is standard in a Maglite for and LED one.

What this actually means to you who own a Maglite is that the batteries used to power these functional but stylish flashlights last considerably longer. In fact they can last in excess of 100,000 hours and even when you do need to change the batteries you won’t be required to change the bulb as well that often.

Previously when it came to getting Maglite LED conversion kit you would have to opt for those provided by third parties. The problem was that in many cases these would actually void the Maglite’s lifetime warranty. However, now Maglite themselves have simplified things and introduced their own conversion kit.

With the kits available you have the opportunity to upgrade your 2, 3 or 4 cell Maglite flashlights from the original model to one that is LED. All you are required to do is replace the original incandescent tungsten bulb with an LED module.

So what are the benefits to be gained from replacing the original bulb with a Maglite LED conversion kit? Below we take a look at just some of these.

1. These bulbs come with intelligent energy source management for which the patent is pending and is able to balance high brightness with efficient power use more effectively.

2. Each of the Maglite LED conversion kits come with balanced optics that combines a highly refined reflector with quality LED so you can adjust the beam of light better.

3.	The kits have been developed and are cell number/size specific. So the kit you purchase must match exactly to the number of cells in your Maglite whether it is 2, 3 or 4.

4.	These kits come with the same collar which acts as the base heat sink and the same precision driver as you would find in the Maglite that you wish to convert to LED. So of course ensuring that the quality of light produced is even better than that provided by the original bulb that has been replaced.

5.	As these Maglite LED conversion kits are engineered by the company and have been authorized by their own factory this means that at no time will the lifetime warranty become null and void. Also you will find that these are more likely to work better.

As you can see from above there are plenty of reasons why one should be seriously considering replacing the original incandescent tungsten bulbs in such flashlights with a Maglite LED conversion kit. Not only will you spend less on replacement bulbs but also on replacement batteries.

Many soldiers have been forced into situations where they have needed purchase certain pieces of equipment for themselves. One item that many need to purchase is a flashlight and most are opting to purchase a Maglite LED flashlight.

The reason that they opt for such flashlights is simply because not only are they durable, but are extremely affordable. Plus the amount of light that these Maglite LED torches provide is very high quality.

However, it isn’t just the military who find these flashlights so good a great many police forces and average Joes do as well. Many people find them useful around the home as well as when they go on camping and hiking trips.

These flashlights just like others are extremely easy to use and although they are quite long they are not that cumbersome to carry. In fact unlike some other models they are very easy to carry because they don’t weight that much.

The other benefit to owning a Maglite LED flashlight over some other models is that they have a number of different accessories that you can purchase for yours. Along with replacement bulbs you can also get replacement lenses which if you wish you can purchase in a range of different colours. Certainly for military personnel in a war zone being able to take out the clear lens with a green or red one can prove very advantageous and as a result may save a person’s life.

But what are the other benefits to owning a Maglite LED flashlight? Below we take a look at just some of these.

Benefit 1 – There is far less risk of the batteries drying out and so won’t need to be replaced as regularly. In many cases the batteries of such torches can last upwards of 100,000 hours.

Benefit 2 – Where as with traditional flashlights that have incandescent tungsten bulbs in them those that come with the LED bulbs won’t need replacing as often. Plus you will notice when the LED bulb is going to burn out compared to a traditional bulb.

Benefit 3 – The LED bulb is far less fragile than the traditional glass ones and even when dropped they often survive without any damage being caused to them. So again you will find that they don’t need to be replaced as often.

Benefit 4 – With a Maglite LED flashlight you will find that the bulbs inside these produce much less heat than a traditional bulb. So of course the chances of them burning out if used for extended periods of time shouldn’t occur. However, it is a good idea when using for extended periods of time is to turn it off for between 10 and 30 minutes so allowing the semi conductors within the bulb time to cool down. This is a problem really that only the Maglite mini LED flashlight suffers from.

Today you have two options open to you when it comes to purchasing a Mini Maglite LED flashlight for your personal use. You can either opt for the model that needs only 2 AA alkaline batteries to power it or the one that requires 3 of these batteries.

Although these flashlights may be small they are very versatile and can be used in a variety of different ways. You can either attach yours to your key chain so that when coming home late at night you can use it to light your front door so allowing you to insert your key into the lock quickly.

Another way in which this type of flashlight can be used is known as candle mode. When you use it in this way you will need to unscrew the head part of it. Then place this down on a table or any flat surface that you have. Once on the surface take the body (barrel) of your Mini Maglite LED flashlight and put it into the head of it. Then all you need to do is turn the flashlight on and you have an electric candle.

Yet there are other reasons why it is worth considering purchasing a Mini Maglite LED flashlight and below we take a look at just what some of these are.

Reason 1 – These types of flashlights require a great deal less energy to power them compared to a traditional flashlight which makes them more energy efficient. As far less energy needs to be taken from the batteries inserted to power they last for considerably much longer. In fact the operational life expectancy of one of these torches when not used on a continuous basis is up to around 100,000 hours. Whereas when it comes to conventional incandescent tungsten bulb in a flashlight these generally only have an operational life span of 5,000 hours.

Reason 2 – As these types of flashlights produce no UV radiation and only small amounts of heat they are perfect for illuminating objects that need to be closely examined. Especially when the item in question is actually sensitive to UV light such as a person.

Reason 3 – As these mini Maglite LED bulb produces very little heat they unlike conventional glass bulbs don’t tend to burn out as quickly and so don’t need placing as regularly. Also they are made from materials which is considerably stronger than glass so if dropped the chances of them breaking is reduced.

Reason 4 – The most obvious reason for having a mini Maglite LED flashlight is there size. These are suitable for carrying in your bag or pocket. Plus although small and lightweight they are made from high quality materials that ensures that they last for many years to come no matter how many times they get dropped or knocked about.
